| | Detectives in Hoddesdon are currently investigating a robbery at a jewellery store in the High Street, which happened at around 11.15am today (Monday 2 March). Two men on a moped and equipped with a disc cutter and a machete have broken a window at the front of Garnier’s and taken a number of items from a display. No one was hurt during the incident, although members of the public who tried to intervene were threatened. The men then left the scene on the bike using the back roads off the High Street. Officers have recovered the bike and a helmet in Dobbs Weir Road near to the Fish and Eels pub. Detective Inspector Neil Watts said: “We are aware that there is footage already circulating on social media of this incident and we would urge people not to share, but to send any evidential material directly to us. “We would also ask that anyone who has information that could assist us and has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch as soon as possible.” Anyone with any video footage is asked to send it via the following link: https://upload.5fdams.aetopia.net?ref=W5AEJX | | | | |
